I'm a young male in generally good healthy. I've had a flaky scalp for as long as I can remember. What I've noticed over the last several years is that my scalp only seems to experience this as my hair starts to grow over a half inch or so. It also gets fairly itchy and inflamed. It's almost as if I'm allergic to my own hair. If I shave my head, I'm left with a hand full of hair with flakes, but a 'healthy' looking scalp.
The result of this is that I tend to keep my head shaved, which is an inconvenience that I can live with, but is anyone familiar with this that can provide some insight or advice?
Also, I've tried various products such as Head & Shoulders and Nizoral. They seem to have somewhat of a positive effect, but when my hair reaches an inch or two, it seems to be nearly ineffective.
