Why does my ride "smell" like inside the primary???

I am just wondering how you got your head in there?

Just switched mine (about 1600 miles) to AMSOIL in the crankcase and primary....REDLINE in the tranny. I notice the oder too. Smells like regular old 80-90 we used to put in standard xmissions and rear ends. Once that smell gets on ya...it's there for awhile.
Levels are good....Ima keep ridin'.

3 holes in my '05 Ultra and one of them stinks.

1.) primary - RedLine MTL

2.) tranny - RedLine Shockproof Heavy

3.) engine - Mobil 1


#2 appears to be the guilty party. Can't smell #1 or #3. But #2 is unmistakable.

I don't know about you, but I would be worried if I could NOT smelly my #2.

So what is an equivalent tranny lube to RedLine Shockproof Heavy that doesn't stink as much???

This morning I was out for a ride before the 100+ heat index takes hold.

That Redline just wreaks bigtime. Can't take it anymore.

When I switched to Mobil 1 Vtwin, I noticed a different smell. I haven't noticed a new smells with Redline Shockproof Heavy.

On my bike, it's the Mobil1 in the engine that smells. I only began to smell it after I installed a FuelMoto breather that eliminates the backing plate.

Anybody else agree that Redline Shockproof Heavy smells stronger/nastier than Mobil 1 V-twin???

I may switch my tranny to Mobil for less odor.
