why does my playstation 3 freeze on call of duty 4 when i go to my messages?

I am playing call of duty 4 .. i recive a message reply.. then then i open the message and the RE: is highlited it freezes this always happens on the RE: and is really annoying i have to restart me ps3, how can i prevent this from happening?
