Why does my Motorola CLIQ DEXT MB220/MB200's battery not last?

I recently bought a phone, full name in title, and the battery is supposed to last for 6 hours of talk time. However, when I'm using it (txting, mostly)it barely lasts for 4.
When I enter the battery manager, it shows up that (even if I've been using it continuously since I unplugged it) the System Idle Process accounts for 30% of battery use, and the System Standby is also around the same. The next highest percentage is the Android System, which usually is about 20%. When I leave it (fully charged) overnight, it ends up having about 50% battery in the morning.
I also noticed that at the System Diagnostics panel, the processor use is always at 100%, whenever I check it.
The phone is new, and I tried it with two different authentic batteries and they're about the same.

Is there something wrong with it? I'm pretty sure the processor use shouldn't constantly be at 100%, and I don't see why the system idle process and system standby should be consuming the highest amount of battery. Could it be a virus? I live in New Zealand, and bought it from a small electronics shop company, via trademe.co.nz (the local version of Ebay).
