Why does my Mazda 3 07 changes the way respond when I changed fuel octane rating?

When my fuel tank is about 15% containing 95 rated octane, I filled it up and shifted to a 97 rated fuel. Suddenly I felt a change in the way my engine responds when I step on the gas. Accelleration is poor. Is this Normal? Will it damage my engine? Is it ok to switch back to 95 when its consumed?
 
U need to check ur fuel filter to see if its stopped up..And also check ur fuel pump also
