why does my jeep oil pressure gauge starts at 3/4 full in idle and then rises

The oil pump is driven by the speed of the engine. The faster the rpms the higher the pressure until the relief valve lets off the extra pressure.
This is normal.
You should worry if the gauge starts at 3/4 & then falls to 1/4
