Why does my Jack Russell puppy whine when licking my face?

Good morning,
I have a 3 month old Jack Russell puppy that seems to whine (but differently than a whine to go outside or something) when she gets excited while licking my face. She does that to my fiancee as well. I know it is normal but I would like to know WHY she is doing it. She is obviously happy but the noise she makes is just different.

Do other owners of jack russells notice any similarities? Or do they do the same thing? And why?

ever been So excited that you giggled and squealed and screamed and jumped up and down because you just couldn't contain yourself? Its basically the same thing. My dachshund puppy does the same thing when she hasn't seen me in a while. She's just so happy and wants you to know it.
 
she is excited and some dogs cant contain that excitment. its a good thing. she is showing you how much she loves you guys. my dog does it to. my dog does it especially when she is around other dogs because she is being submissive. hope this helps
