I have iFile and WinterBoard installed on my jailbroken iPhone 3GS (iOS 4.0.1), and recently I started trying to make my own themes by simply uploading sprites or icons and putting them into correct folders and changing names.
Unfortunately, I was running out of free memory, so I deleted a bunch of wallpapers and icons from within iFile (swipe to delete). Some of the wallpapers were like 2MB, so I should have freed up about 10MB altogether, but instead of freeing up memory, I LOST memory! I went from 50MB to like 20MB.
Then, I went into settings and tried a few things, namely turning on the recycle bin to see if perhaps there were files hidden in it, but nothing changed, and I lost even more memory (down to 8MB) for doing nothing at all.
I chose to sync my iPhone and after I synced it (and transfered NO files to my iPhone), it dropped again to 4MB!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone please tell me why I'm losing memory even when I supposedly deleted a bunch of files?
