Why does my Ford KA take 2-3 attempts to start in the mornings?

Its onlyl first thing in the morning, when its cold and a bit frosty that my Ford KA takes a couple of attempts to start, it doesnt happen at any other time of day, could this be just because its cold in the mornings or could there be something wrong with it?

Petrol engines aren't usually effected with the cold unless the battery loses some of its amps, does the engine turn over normally?

Does the battery spin the starter as quickly as it used to? If not the battery may be old & worn out, they don't last forever.
