J Joe Guest Mar 6, 2009 #1 sometimes when my 1998 explorer sport idles the RPM meter goes under 1 and you hear the engine sound like its struggling.. it sounds as if its pulsating and the cabin does a little shaking.. any idea what the problem is?

C Chopstix Guest Mar 6, 2009 #3 Check the whole air intake system. Maybe your filter could be clogged. You can also go to an auto shop and they can tune your engine for you.
