My dog has had squeaky toys since the day we got him about a year and a half ago. He has countless squeaky tennis balls, kongs, tug toys, etc. Recently though he has begun to display very weird behavior when playing with one toy in particular. Every time myself or anyone else in the house makes the toy squeak he becomes frantic and begins to cry/whine. This is followed by frantic jumping and barking until he finally has the toy in his possession. He's almost three years old, has never exhibited this behavior before and the only answers that I can find which explain this behavior only refer to female dogs and pregnancy. Why does he do this and what caused him to suddenly decide to start doing it?
