MY DOG IS A FEMALE PIT BULL AND SHE JUST WHINES SO MUCH. ANYTIME I LEAVE THE ROOM AND I MIGHT HAVE HER IN HER CAGE. WHENEVER SHE CAN'T SEE ME SHE STARTS TO CRY. SHE'S 4 1/2 MONTHS. PEOPLE SAID SHE'LL STOP ONCE SHE GETS A LITTLE OLDER BUT I DONT THINK SHE WILL. ANYTIME SHE CANT SEE US SHE STARTS TO CRY AND ITS SO ANNOYING. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Make sure you don't cage her too much out of the day but if just for short times the best way to curb this whining behavior is to ignore it. If you go back to her - she gets what she wants. If you say "no" she hears your voice and you are in essence giving her attention and thus she wins.

Just ignore her, she will get bored and stop eventually once she learns that whining gets her nowhere.

...why not just let her stay with you more, ..she may be afraid for whatever reason...
..is she getting enough attention???
has she been abused??
...shes just a baby, remember that...
Give her lots of attention, like she deserves.
Is she spayed yet?? ..i hope she is.
just give her time..and reward her when she's quiet....and give lots of playtime too.

she's probably whining because she's lonely. you might want to get another dog for her for company.

she might have had a bad home before. she's probably scared you'll abandon her.

All you can do is put her in her cage and leave her there until she stops whining and then she'll know that when she whines you are not going to come hollering. She will just have to cry herself to sleep like what people do with babies. If you fed her you let her go to the bathroom and she still keeps doing it put her in her cage.

the same problem goes with my dog. he's 7 months right now and whenever i leave the room, he whines. eventually, this WILL stop with the correct training. the reason why your pitbul is whining is because she wants attention. she doesn't want you to leave her all alone and this is mostly the cause of seperation anxiety. do you give her a lot of attention? if so, cut some time out with her so she can learn that she cant ALWAYS be with her owner every second. if you want your pitbull to stop whining, here's what you should do: leave your dog in a certain area where she mostly goes...stay there with her and play with her for a while. leave the room afterwards and if she follows you, make sure she doesn't leave that specific area and make sure she doesn't see you. eventually, she will whine but you HAVE to ignore that. after a couple of minutes, she will stop and trust me, i know she will! if your dog doesn't stop whining after a couple of minutes, it's okay. you can enter back in the room but you need to understand your dog is not the boss of you and she can't always get your attention when she wants. when you enter the room, DON'T GIVE HER ANY ATTENTION! basically, don't even pet him or say her name. pretend she's not even there. does she have a bed? if so, put something in the bed like a toy or a blanket that has your scent in it so she will feel more comfortable. my dog has a bed and i put a little blanket to make it more comfortable and to make it feel secure for him. even if you're not there, she'll feel that she has something part of you.

She whines because she wants your attention just like human babies whine when all the want is their mothers to carry them. Spend time more time with her or plerhaps get her a playmate. Make sure she has plenty of toys, food and water, and a comfortable bed.

When my dog was a puppy, she would cry when crate training too. All dogs do. They are pack animals - they are used to being with other dogs / people and part of a pack - so when theyre alone, and not used to it they cry. When you get a dog, you become their pack. So remember that when she cries, its not to annoy you, its just because shes used to being with someone, not alone. Its her nature.

That happened to my dog too. You dog probably has seperation anxiety. What i did was let my dog out for longer periods of time and she eventually stopped whining. She's just scared that you'll leave her.

my pit used to do that when he was in his crate at bed time and i was up stairs and he was down stairs... the most inportent thing to do is ignore her... sad i know you wanta go give her attention or just go tell her to hush! but if she knows you will come give her any time of attention she will continue to do so. if you show her you wont be comming to give any attention then in a few days she wont be doing it any more.

lol, i have this same problem with my 2 beagles. When i take one out to use the potty, the other one is howling like someone is killing it. The other dog can even see us outside. I can't even leave the room to use the bathroom with out them both howling at the door. I don't crate mine no more, they have their own living room. But when i am home they have rome of the house. Maybe your pup has never been left alone. My dogs are 6 months old and never left alone with out each other. I would try crating the dog with a TV on, and the light. I leave my TV on 24/7 for my dogs, so that they have noise. I am sure they are sick of hearing people singing and listening to commercials at night. I know this sounds stupid, but maybe put a recording of your voice in the room may help. Its going to take time for her to quit whining, because she is still a baby herself. Good luck to you, because i have tried everything to keep my dogs from whining and howling. Mine have ripped apart a metal kennel to get out. They have chewed threw a plastic kennel. Poor me!! what was i thinking getting beagles for a house pet. but i love them like my kids, wouldn't trade them for the world. good luck to you.

it may help ! and its a little over the top . and if there is any dog trainers out here then give advice.

if the dog will not stop whining and you have try the normal approach.

then get a small coke bottle and fill with small stones etc.

every time the dog whines , shake the bottle in the other room where the dog can't see you , it will make a noise that the dog shouldn't like.

learning the dog that whining is bad.

the dog should stop
