I have a 7 year old neutered male Min Pin. I got him over a year ago when he was turning 6. I had met him a few times before we bought him and then he had to be shipped over to us. He was nervous at first, but within the first week he settled in fine. Within the past four or five months, he has started to "hoard" and bury mostly electronics and some leather belts/gloves in his bed, and he surrounds himself with remotes and cell phones only...

He will bury my remotes, cell phones, iPods, leather gloves and belts, etc. in his bed, and sometimes he will take the tv remote and mine and my boyfriends cell phones and surround himself and "cuddles" with them while he sleeps on our bed. When my boyfriend reaches for them, my dog acts like he is going to bite him. When I reach for the stuff, my dog watches me as though I am taking a treat I just gave him or something. Why would he do this?
He only displays dominance with my bf and only with the electronics. He sleeps on the bed on the floor, he gets fed after we eat, and he doesn't display any other dominance issues... Could it really be dominance issue?! ....I hope not! =(
Oh and he only displays his dominance issue with the electronics that he "cuddles" with. The stuff he 'buries' in his beds and crate don't matter.
I've given him a shirt and a pillow case in his beds and his crate, and he loves them! But he seems to be going through a loving electronic/leather more than clothing period... Hmm... Any ideas because I'm confused!
I don't mind, I know where to find 'most' lost items now! But I am still curious =)

They probably have a bit of your and your boy friends scent on them. They remind him of you and make him feel comfortable.
Try giving him a old sweater or clothing that you wore and I bet he will like that even more.

He thinks you are a bad mom and he is a teenager and is being rebellious. That is a weird behaviour, more like a squirrel pinscher.
lol
I hope that made you smile,
