Why does my cadillac deville 2004 only give me 12 MPG when its supposed to be

around 17 or 18MPG? My gas doesnt last me not even a week, and i doubt its a leak...
i know its a V8 but 12 MPG? somethings really wrong...
any responce would be nice.
