I used to be addicted to a pain medication, and was thrown in jail. I had to do community service, and I see a doctor now, on a regular basis for treatment. I am clean now, and trying to better my life. My boyfriend of 7 years, whom I have lived with for 6 years has told a lot of people, including a nosy, older neighbor about me, and my drug problem. I was very hurt because of this, and he tries to rationalize himself by saying, "I have a criminal record too, but I learned from my mistakes, and I am better. I don't care if people know about me, etc. Who do you think you are, Paris Hilton? Who are you to be trying to protect you reputation?" I told him, "If you love someone, you don't betray them like this." He STILL doesn't get that it is RUDE and very hurtful for him to be spilling my dirty laundry like this to everyone. He tells me, "Well, you SHOULDN'T of done what you did, then!" On top of this, he got mad at me a while back because I told one of his friends that a cousin of my boyfriend's used to be on heroin. He gets mad at me spilling the beans on his cousin, but tells everyone MY business. What do you think? I am VERY, VERY hurt.
