Why does my bluetooth head set cause my PS3 Online games to lag!?

Ok, had my PS3 for a while and had a bluetooth head set for 3 months now. I play COD online and i use my mic everytime I play. I have had no problems at all for three months. Suddenly yesturday when i play online and turn my mic on I get really bad lag and its driving me mad. Ive tried re-asigning the head set, ive reset the internet connections but not luck. Why suddenly now? I have BT Broadband and my computer connects to the internet fine. I just dont understand it. Anyone know how to fix this really annoying problem!!
