Well yeah I have a bmx bike and when I pedal it makes a noise almost like "tick-tock." I took it to a bike shop and they claimed they knew what it was so they replaced the bearings but the noise was still there, just quieter. When I got the bike back I decided to paint it, and when that was done and everything was back together it still makes that noise... 
The bike is fairly new.
