My 94 dodge pickup will start and stay running, but when I try to accellerate it will die. I replaced the fuel pump about a year ago. As long as it is just idling it will stay running. When I push the gas to go or to speed up it will die. Can anyone help with this??

if it,s got a carburator then maybe the accelerator pump in the carburator is bad and not taking the gas.

Did you change the fuel filter? The filter may be allowing enough fuel to pass to keep it ideling but the demand for fuel when you hit the gas if you have a clogged filter will not be enough.

A manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor will run you about 70 bucks and ya it's easy to install, not many books have an article on how to change it or even where it is located though. That's what i believe my truck needs. It'll run like crap and stall. A map sensor measures the load on the engine and adjusts timing and fuel delivery accordingly.
