Why does my 2003 mazda lurch when I apply brakes while going forward and in reverse??

I bought this 2003 mazda 6 with 73,400 miles,,on test drive the car drove clean.. After only 2 days when I apply the brakes the car lurches forward like it doesnt want to stop but then it will. It also does the same thing in reverse. This doesnt happen until I've been driving for a little while
 
Maybe the brake pads or shoes have never been replaced and are scoring the rotors or drums. You may be stuck with getting a complete brake job now.
