Occasionally, my minivan dies on idle. It always happens when starting a cold engine. If I rev the engine for a few moments or if I drive down the road about 1/4 mile, the problem goes away. It happens about once or twice per week lately.
1. I had the engine codes read, and they were okay.
2. I cleaned out the throttle body today. It was a bit dirty, but not excessively so. So I'm not sure if that will solve the problem.
Any other thoughts about what might be causing the problem? Oh, and bonus points if you can also explain to me why cleaning the throttle body matters to engine performance anyway.
