i was driving yesterday at 60 miles per hour and my rpm and mph dropped to zero and shot back up. today my car will crank and then shut back off almost immediately. i checked to see if fuel was coming out of the fuel filter and fuel pump.i have put new spark plugs and a new distributer cap in. what else should i do?
thanks, tobie

Sounds like an electrical problem. It could be a loose or faulty battery cable or it could be a bad ignition switch or other short in the alternator or ignition system.

I think it would be like this. It could be a loose or faulty battery cable or it could be a bad ignition switch or other short in the alternator or ignition system. So there should be optimist about it.
