why does my 1984 ford f250 with the 460 run crappy under a load going uphill?

460 smogger..how many miles? probably got mor blow by than a leaky dam and engine is trying to fire a two stroke mix of gas and oil fumes. get a compression test done before spending money uselessly on plugs and junk, that won't help a worn out engine. that's the truth maybe not what you want to hear, but it's your money

it runs fine on level ground but as soon as i go onto any kind of grade under a load it almost sounds like its wanting to jump time or running out of gas. starts spittin and sputterin

maybe the fuel pump is getting weak. it takes more pressure to climb a hill then it does on the level.
