Why does my 05 Dodge Ram hesitate to start?

Need input from experienced Dodge owners!
I have an 05 dodge Ram 1500 Laramie. It sat for a bit before I purchased it. As time passes,it tends to not want to start for a few seconds. I usually have to crank on it for about 5 seconds. I know it is a fuel/spark issue as I smell rich fuel in the exhaust when this happens. I changed the plugs already as it was time anyway. I get a code stating cylinder misfire.
Could it be a coil or my plug wires?
Also,I have heard that some alarm systems can malfunction and this one has a viper alarm on it that did have an issue(alarm stayed on because battery in the remote was corroded but I cleaned/replaced it). The alarm is tied into a coil but not the coil that shows the cylinder misfire.
Any thoughts?
Just to update:
Not a starter issue, I should have been more clear on that. I have put it on the computer and all load outputs, etc. are showing tested and fine.
No weak coil is showing up(of course it isn't tested when it isn't started but while it is running)
If you are not familiar with a multi coil system, one for each cylinder and 16 spark plugs, two per cylinder, please avoid this question! It is a tricky problem.
Thank you for your help thus far!

you could get a new starter but i would change the coil, and plug wires to be safe.

its a ignition coil... take it in some where like auto-zone or a auto part store that reads codes... they will tell u which was is missing..... but before u do that try turning the key forward to the on position and then the off position... do this with out starting the truck ..just turn it until your dash registers... do it about three times then start the truck if it turns on right away then u have a weak fuel pump and u need to replace it
