when you go to Mcdonalds you can rarely find a healthy item.....so why do they sponsor sporting events.....in my book a Big Mac and the Olympics don't go together.

LOL!!!!!!!!! I know exactly what you mean, I always talk about that! And like, the commercials, they show all these "thin, cool people" partying and having fun and eating there food and they are "oh so cool and fit" and I am like sure,,,,, They really try to put the image out there that they are so healthy but in reality, look at America! Yes I am sure people training for the Olympics fit a good old Big Mac and large fries into their diet!!!!! haha I have always wondered this. I also wonder why, I worked in a hospital once, that was a heart center, did heart surgery and things like that, and in the cafeteria was a freakin MCDONALDS!!! Job security for the open heart surgeons I guess!

Food at McDonald's is not necessarily unhealthy. There was a high school teacher in Illinois that ate every meal (3 per day) at McDonald's for an entire month and dropped 15 pounds.

It's moderation. When people eat there every day and turn around and sit on their couch all night and do nothing about exercise, they get fat. McDonald's sells quick, tasty food. It's not their fault people go there every night of the week and get fat.

I feel the same. But they have a crap load of money, so by sponsoring it on something big like the olympics will draw more people into Mcdonalds. Therefore they will make more money and continue to lead people to all the health problems they are having now like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, obseity etc. They probably do not even care about the people's health.

Its all about image. Kinda why they started offering apple slices instead of fries in a kids meal.

They want the consumer to think that they are fitness friendly.
