Why does he get so mad when i talk 2 his friends?

This guy that i've been hanging out with was being shady towards me,so i ask his friend why he was being an ass towards me. His friend says idk you'll have 2 ask him. I said i tried but he won't talk about it. His friend says i'm srry he's being an ass but we can't be talking bc if he knew he would be really mad so plzs stop. I said ok i will srry. So his friend goes back and tells him that i've been talking 2 him. Now he's really mad at me and tells me 2 leave his friends alone. I mean i just don't understand why he got so mad. It's not like i tried hooking up with his friend or something. I ask other people about it and they said it sounds like he's jealous. I mean i love this guy and i would never try n hook up with one of his friends. I ask him 2 forgive me n so far he hasn't n it's hurting me so bad!!!
