Why does Firefox 3.0 keep erasing my URL history?

Every time I close Firefox, it erases the URL history. I've gone in to Tools>Options and unchecked "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox", but after I close Firefox and reopen it, it automatically rechecks "Always clear private data when I close Firefox."

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it multiple times. I've also tried installing an older version of Firefox, and it does the same thing. Any suggestions??

hi ren let's try a few steps to see if we can correct this problem first reboot when you see your windows logo start tapping f8 this will bring you to a safe mode screen scrol down to last good configuration (advance) now see if it isn't better if it is not then i would recommend that you uninstall internet explorer 8 and reinstall internet explorer 7 but before you do that i recommend that you hit start>settings>control panel go to add/remove icon and unistall firefox then internet explorer 8 then reboot then go ahead and download internet explorer 7 then firefox followed by java by sun and adobe reader followed with adobe flash and adobe media player but to install this you will see adobe air must be installed then it will automaticly install themedia player. good luck hope i was helpful to you
