Why does everyone write in free verse now?

It's quite annoying, honestly. I don't mean to devalue it as a style, really, although it isn't particularly my favorite (Tim Seibles and Leilani Hall are exceptions). I just find it irritating that absolutely no contemporary poet finds it worth their time to give a poem rhythm or meter or rhyme. It makes me feel alienated as one that doesn't really write in free verse at all. So basically I have two questions: Why does everyone write in free verse now? and Are there any contemporary writers who regularly write in a structured form?
