Why does everyone think you have to be in relashionship or married to have sex?

I know it might make it better but everyone is different and is not reconmmended for most people and alote of the time it does not turm out great because one or both of the couple are not satified or wants to try something new but one of them does not want to do it or their they dont want to have sex or one of them is getting tired of being
the first to intimate or do all the work while the other does not put any effort into and does nothing..what are you comments about this.
