Why does everyone in the Marines hate the Army?

Why is it that everyone where I live hates the Army. specifically all these marine corps dep kids? I'd serve with a Marine any day on the field, but they always think they are Superior, even though sometimes they go through Army schools for AIT.

How could they think they are wimpy after D-Day, Anzio, The Bulge. and back then training was only 6 weeks. My training is now 15 weeks because I'm infantry.

why can't we get along? we are just as well trained.
 
I'm in the AF, and i got to AIT with Marines, Navy, Cost Gaurd, and Army, and everyone branch believe that they are top shit.
 
Well from what I hear and what the media makes of it the marine is the front line battle and the most dangerous. Everyone says the Army is just there but isnt it pretty much the same thing and both army and marines combat on land so what is the differences. I respect both.
 
probably because it's the cool thing to do... monkey see, monkey do. but all branches poke fun at one another... i've heard my fair share of jokes about the Navy, and i've thrown my own out at the other branches as well! my best friend was Army, my uncle Air Force, and I've worked with Marines time and again on the beach.

look at it like this, at least they're fired up about their job, which means they'll do well at it... military is military and you don't wanna be associated with a bunch of unmotivated losers, no matter what branch they happen to be in.
 
It's all about pride. When your in the business of possibly dying for your country, respect for your co-workers runs off the scale.
