I can believe all the stories in the bible, all of the miracles, etc. because God is omnipotent. But the logic behind many of his choices is very questionable to me...
Jesus was killed because he claimed that he was the son of God... They were wrong to kill him for it, but if someone came up to you, right now, and started preaching about how they're God, etc... Would you believe them? As far as I can see, this is essentially what Jesus did. He also did not provide proof when he very well could have, considering that he is omnipotent. What was the point? That he wanted them to just blindly accept that he created everything in the universe, and they were not supposed to be offended by this claim in any way?
Why didn't he just avoid this entire mess all together, by either not having those particular people exist at all, or by simply proving it to them? You might say that it's because he needed to die on the cross for us, but why did he need to do that? I don't see why he couldn't have not died for us, yet also did not have to send us all to hell. After all, he is omnipotent, right?
Why do we even have to exist at all? Why did God create a hypothetical situation in which something can be raped, tortured, killed, etc. at all, let alone for eternity, simply because they did not believe something so hard to believe and something that so many people cannot understand the logic behind *because of the way he created us*? What is he trying to prove? That if you create something designed to not understand something, it won't, and they should burn for the rest of eternity for it?
I believe in God, and I believe there is a deeper meaning to the universe. I can't not believe in God, I've tried. But recently, I've been viewing him as immoral, and illogical.
"if you've ever been sexually assaulted or held at the point of a gun, hell starts to make sense. if you've never slept outside in the cold, never been out of work for a year, never lost a child, it must be a very difficult thing to understand."
Why didn't God just not create people that would put others in these kinds of situations?
"gods a prick, he wants you to suffer, it makes HIM happy, and he hifives his brother Satan"
I believe Satan is immoral and illogical as well. It sounds to me like I'm wrong either way, just for different reasons.
I know I already said this, but the worst reason to me is, why would God create a situation in which something could be raped, killed, tortured, etc., let alone for the rest of eternity, when he could have designed everything so that these things could or would not happen? There are so many ways in which he could have done this, while still giving us freewill. He could have removed people that would do such things from existence, permanently or temporarily. He could have designed our bodies in completely different ways so that such concepts didn't even exist. It seems to me that he arbitrarily created us the way we are. What is the point of this hypothetical situation at all, let alone if God is going to allow such horrible concepts to exist?
