So I really do not watch T.V. much at all. Recently however, my computer was...under surgery...and I was bored so I watched television. I was rather disgusted. I was Disney Channel and Nickolodean, and most EVERY show that I watched it portrayed the father as moronic, or a fool, or a failure, or just plain stupid.
Most of the commercials I saw involving parents always portrayed the mother/female/wife as intelligent using her wits to outsmart her husband while the father/male/husband was portrayed as a blubbering idiot. For example a recent commercial being the Pokemon ad for one of the fast food restaurants, or the "SpongeBob No Pants" commercial (That was repulsive).
So a quick summery of my question, why are men portrayed as moronic foolish blubbering blobs in the media? (Pretty much showing our new generation they should not respect their father as much as their mother when it should be the same).
I am 19, I am a male. I have no interest in sex, and do not find myself sexist at all, equality should be the way to go.
