I'm looking for real answers, not just 'cause they're idiots'
I believe, for most of them, that they cant handle with the change and effort they'd have to put in so they don't research but say 'it doesn't exist' hope it'll go away

well what i think is that they are hard headed people that don't care whats happening to our planet. simply because they "don't care"

At this point, it's obvious that the climate is changing. But the difference is whether or not we (as humans) are causing it. Personally, I believe that it is a natural cycle, as no hard, statistical evidence that humans are to blame has arisen.

What do you mean by "believe in global warming"?

I'm not a religious person, whatever went into my makeup somehow didn't include the genes necessary to have faith. So I don't believe in much of anything.

Beyond the rich and powerful hypocrites, self-interested souls grazing at the public trough, and people whom I might charitably call space cadets I don't find too many people with any real convictions about the claims that humans are inducing a climatic disaster that can be averted only by immediate and far ranging action.

To say the earth is getting warmer is just a matter of where you place the other end of the measuring stick. It's been colder and it has been warmer in what is the not too distant past. There is nothing abnormal or unusual about our current climate.

The harsh times have been when it was colder. CO2 is a trace gas utterly vital to our survival. People fear two things that would actually improve our quality of life.

Nature and our own ingenuity provides a vast array of far more dangerous threats than some weather changes. We are being asked to divert resources from real problems to what really is a con game married to mass hysteria.

Guess I'm just an idiot as you put it. When it is cold I warm myself up in some fashion. When it is warm or hot I find a way to keep cool. I take nature as it comes. Can't stop the hurricanes or underground volcanoes from emitting gasses.

Actually, the sun goes through a cycle where it's either more active or less. The temperature measured on all the outer planets are going up as well as ours. So some people believe that were entering the cycle where the sun is more active.

For me, I think the changes need to be made anyway. All the toxins we put out are bad in more ways then one!

We have to get away from the phrase "global warming." It's actually "climate change." There's lot's of misinformed people who say simplistic things like 'It's 0 degrees in my town--where's the global warming?" It's much more complicated than that. Do your own research and make up your own mind--and look out for charlatans on both sides of the issue, for they are abundant.

Show us how wrong we are. Just tell us if it will be warmer or colder in the future and how you came to your conclusion.

When you show us that you're right, how could anyone ever doubt you?

It's really passed the point of believing now. It's already happening.

And as for the reasons as to why they don't believe, it could be anything really. They might not want to believe just because most people do.. if that makes sense.

I am on the email subscriber list for a bestselling author who is one of these people who does not believe in global warming.

His philosophy is *highly* libertarian. The contents of his emails make it obvious that he believes that the consequence of global warming assertions will be significantly increased government control over our daily lives.

In other words, the global warming assertions are, in his outlook, an attack on the values that he most cherishes. Consequently, it should not be surprising that he denies its existence.
