I'm looking to play bass guitar in Jazz Band at school and I don't currently have one. I was looking them up and I noticed a bunch came with amps and some without. So my question is why do I need the amp and what happens if I don't have one? I'm looking to get an electric one and also, I would like to know a worthy brand so that I don't buy an expensive crappy one. Thanx
