Why do yaks have two different LDH enzymes?

My biochem professor said that Yaks have two different types of LDH Enzymes (A and B) why would they need two different enzymes to break down the same protein? I read some articles saying they have many LDH enzymes to combat Hypoxia (oxygen deprivation in the tissue) so maybe one for low and one for high hypoxia? What do you guys think?
