Laws are made and drafted with some thought and consideration of all sides. There is logic, there is debate, and if things change we can always make new laws or alter them in more suitable ways.
If you break the law you are punished. And that's how it should be. But why do we need morals in a modern lawful and democratic society. If something is bad and harmful there should only be a law against it. Morals are very difficult to change and are always outdated with the next generation, they are purely emotional and most of the time there's no logic to them. They are old-fashioned and only do harm.
