why do we learn history?

i have to write a paper on why do we learn history and im having a tough time starting it..so if you could please help.
 
have you thought of googling "why learn history?"

but to sum up...

- to learn from the past

- to learn any mistakes we made in the past, so they don't happen again in the present and future.

- to know where humankind came from (our origins).

- to give recognition to our ancestors.
