why do we get goosebumps/chills when we hear something creepy?

i know why we get them when we're cold, but why when we're scared or something? i love watching ghost shows [for fun] and ill get goosebumps when i see or hear something "ghostly." why does that happen? i can only think it might be from adrenaline...

[this question is only for why we get them when we watch something. not why we get them if something creepy happens in person. i know those theories already]
