Firstly, i am on the more conservative side of things personally. If I had to identify with any ideology, it would be libertarian. However this is all irrelevant.
Why do we, on the political boards, blogs, everything on the internet and even during conversations take the sides of corporate media outlets?
Fox this, MSNBC that. It's like you're choosing your favorite sports team or something based on where you fit in the political spectrum. Not for anything important like the vast amount of issues that are critical to this nations survival, but issues that could definitely take the back burner for a time. It's all ways a left vs right argument, never about liberty vs authority. Understanding, intelligent debate and all the things we could REALLY use right now are masked in agenda or completely ignored. Then It's a shouting match.
It's a perpetuated cycle of ignorance. Six corporations own every major media outlet in our country, and nearly all of them are owned by very bad people. Take Fox for instance (not to be cliche and tear into conservatives, I am not doing that at all, but Fox is the best example i can think of). Fox is owned by Rupert Murdoch, a staunch progressive who supported Obama and contributed to his campaign. He is an elitist and is appealing do a demographic, But don't you think he may be in it for his own agenda, aside from making money? But idk, i'll let you decide what to think if you didn't already know that information.
Why do you continue to stand up for these organizations? You never get any truth. But in an empire of lies, truth is treason.
My solution? Turn off your TV and read a few books amongst other things. But yea, start with that.
@ gma zazza: i don't lean conservative, I am about as conservative as it gets in principle and ideology. i could go on about GE, time-warner and all of the others. But isn't the case of Rupert Murdoch a profound one? It's defamation on on the conservative ideology. The compromise of principle, compromise of everything that i don't agree with. We never stood for preemptive war and the federal government legislating our morality, yet for some reason after he came; that's what we're all about? Wake up!
@ Silas G: I wasn't trying to be condescending or subjective. I wasn't calling them sheep. It's just a very profound issue that it seems people are conditioned to not question anymore. Just pick a side and bash. I picked a horrible platform with Yahoo answers, but i find your answer excellent. However i think we, starting with the idividual need to do a helluvalot more than that.
