Why do these chat boxes come up on the bottom right hand side of the screen on facebook?

It means someone on your friends list is trying to chat with you. Click on the box and answer them.
 
its cos your contacts want to chat to you...
You simply have to chat back to them...or you can disable it by clicking on the green dot and making it red!
