Why do the corner of my eyes flash when I'm in bright light?

For the past 6 months or so I have not been in the sun a lot at all, and now when I do get in the sun my eyes get heavy and when I go into darkness and close my eyes the corners flash temporarily. I have the same problem when on the computer and when I look at my mobile phone screen. What is wrong with me? Do I need to adjust my eyes to natural sunlight again and will it then go away?
