Why do the body shops want to paint my whole hood when they are only fixing 2 dings?

So someone looked like they hit my hood of my truck twice with both dings the size of a hammer, anyway I took it to get a estimate and the place said it would be $440 because they said they only can paint the whole hood and not just the area with damage cause the colors would miss match. Is this true that the color will miss match?
Price seem good or what?
