Lycra is a brand name of "elastane". Spandex is a generic name for "elastane" in the US.

Either way, nobody wants to see your balls (generic name for scrotum + testicles) any more than they want to see fat people in elastane.

bike shorts or bib shorts improve aerodynamics. it also breathes better in hot weather. not only that it doesnt have the parachute effect like you would have wearing regular shorts. and on top of that it has chamois/padding to make your ride more comfortable. also the benefit of muscle compression (google it). so dont be an ignorant juvenile punk. there is a reason for those outfits. Just because of the way they look you would not wear them and even ridicule people that wear them? I would ride naked with some cushioning around my balls if they allowed that in public without calling it indecent exposure. Why the hell do people care so much about what other people wear?

P.S. dont say its cause you dont like seeing fat people wearing spandex (Its not spandex by the way its lycra). I weigh about 140lbs during cycling season and I am 5'8" with most of my weight on my muscular thighs.
MY BALLS DONT SHOW WHEN IM IN LYCRA BIKE SHORTS. I THINK ITS COVERED UP BECAUSE OF THE CHAMOIS YOU STUPID BIGOT!!
