I'm leaving for the Navy soon and I'm very excited about. What I don't understand is why my mom is giving me a hard time? I thought she would be proud of me but I feel like she's trying to talk me out of it or give hints that she doesn't want me to go. She talks loud on the phone to her friends saying how she's gonna sleep in my room and that I can't come back. I don't know why she's doing this because I'm a good young lady and I've always been. People keep saying negative things about the military but I don't listen to them. They go by what they've heard but not by what they know. I know I've done a great thing by joining the Navy and I don't regret it at all. SO, WHY ARE PEOPLE TRYING TO TALK ME OUT OF IT WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MILITARY AND HOW IT WORKS? IT'S REALLY GETTING TO ME. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK. THANK YOU.

because they never served and deep inside they feel bad about it..so they want you to be like them..it bothers some who have never served to see others do what they never could do..

if people try to talk you out of it, that means they care about you. Perhaps you have been brainwashed by commercials and recruiters.
