Why do some people think that heterosexuals in the military are liberally...

...open about their relationships? Plus now that DADT is appealed does that mean that homosexuals can be more open about who they date then heterosexuals can ever be.

I was in the guard and sometimes you didn't even know or see a person's spouse, Some kept their private lives, private. Yes there were some who like to talk about who they dated or their marriage life, but I always thought it was unprofessional to discuss your personal life at work civilian or military. While I was in I dated two men. No he wasn't my commander or a higher rank than me. Anyway, we made a point of not appearing to be couple. If people knew, we made a point of never being around each other. As a female, I didn't want to appear as the chick hanging around her man and I guess they didn't want to appear to be the guy catering to his girl. I don't even think people knew we were dating. Funny they didn't ask and we never told. There were those that did, but that was rare. In my opinion and observation, once again I thought it was unprofessional.

No, I don't think gays should be discharged for their orientation. Does the appeal mean that gays can now be more open than heterosexuals could ever be.?
