Why do so many mothers whine about "me time"?

I don't feel that way. Ever since my daughter was born sure I was too busy to go get a manicure or take a decent nap but it didn't bother me because nothing is more fun that spending time with her. But I constantly hear moms say they need a break or a vacation or they'll go nuts. I couldn't handle being away from my daughter for more than a day and even that would be pushing it (when she goes into school I'll be so sad!).

Anyone else feel that way about their children? And I know some will probably say, "You only have one wait til you have two". Well I know plenty of moms who complain and only have one child.

lol, just wait ;)

How old is your daughter? Have you been a parent of a toddler yet??

nope don't complain about it as often as I have heard it. A day of relaxation for me is a day at home with the hubby and the kiddos :)
But i have said that once in a while that me and the hubby need date nights, but that is so that we keep a healthy loving relationship too. The kids are important but so is our marriage :)

Never wanted 'alone' time, hell I don't want to be alone!! But being alone with the hubby once in a while i think is great!

Because it's not normal to spend 24 hours a day 7 days a week with a child. You both need a break. Of course when they are infants it's vital that you be around you are the mother. But when your kids get older like close to one..and you have more than one you need a break. Unless you are just an awesome wonderful supermom...which I'm not. I need a break....most days! Even if it's just a few minutes to go get a pepsi!

Well how old is your daughter? Many moms don't feel like this until their kids are old enough to have an attitude. If your daughter is under five years old of course you feel like this, she's still cute! She doesn't talk back! I feel the same way as you but my daughter is still a baby. I'm sure by the time my daughter is wearing me out and gets an attitude I'll be ready for some "me time". There's nothing wrong with someone wanting a little break from being a mom.
