Why do so many doctors PUSH people to sign forms and disconnect life support?!?

Let me tell you something.. my grandfather developed a HUGE infection on his brain and left him unable to breath on his own. He became unresponsive and was connected to life support.. within hours of this the doctors gathered all family members and gave us this talk about how he was brain-dead and keeping him on life support would be useless..! NOBODY was going to disconnect my grandfather without having me to physically carry me out of his room. He stayed connected for 2 weeks, he beat the infection, and he survived. 1 year later he chocked on some food and it a lot of fluid went to his lungs, his oxygen level was very low, and he was intubated for 1 month.. during that time the doctors wouldn't stop asking us to unplug him.. UNPLUG UNPLUG UNPLUG but we wouldn't budge especially because my grandfather told us that he wanted to live no matter what.

They said he was brain dead.. multiple doctors and nurses said the machines were keeping him alive.. he wasn't supposed to make it past the night but on Christmas day he woke up! So then please explain to me why do doctors push this decision so hard?

My grandfather thank God is alive and well... thank God. If we had listened to the doctors we would have deprived my grandfather from medication he needed to recuperate and he would have died for lack of treatment.. NOT BECAUSE HE WAS BRAIN DEAD!!!


So do you all people wait only 1-2 days and rush to unplug your family members? !!! that is beyond cruel...
