why do schools insist on making us read boring books?!?

Seriously ! why can't we read books that actually interests us, that's why most kids hate school ! We can't do anything our way , not one thing ! It's always the teachers way or no way..

so far in high school I have read read

FRESHMEN YEAR -
animal farm - Someone should BURN this book immediately

SOPHOMORE YEAR-
Macbeth - i loved it
Separate peace - Okay book
Secret Life of Bees- SUCKED ! .. stupid "moon" and water motifs we talked about every minute of the class !
Island Of Dr. Moreu - BOOORRIING !

JUNIOR YEAR
- CURRENTLY reading "THE GREAT GATSBY" ... it's not bad so far.. Im in love with Gatsby & Daisy=)

but I'm talking about the boring books the school makes us read, the ones were your whole class is like on chapter 15 and your on chapter 6. haha =(
 
because teachers are grumpy and hate everyone and just want to annoy you, most of them hate you and are just there to make money
 
animal farm is an amazing CLASSIC novel with great meaning behind it and is considered to be a top 50 greatest english language book written of all time and if you didn't like it you probably didn't understand it because you may have a narrow mind. it is a very respected and influential book.
