Why do religions all across the planet oppose sexuality so strongly?

I can understand discouraging ppl from fucking every living thing they see. But what doesnt make sense to me is that even acknowleding sex exists is considered irredeemable in all the religions i know of.

I was raised a christian and they consider even looking at a pretty girl to be the most evil thing ever. The bible actually states something like 'if you ever look at someone with lust, tear out your eyes or else your whole body will go to hell rather than just your eyes'. This is made worse by the fact that christians seem to be believe that the only possible interaction between humans of opposite sex is completely sexual in nature. Seriously, wtf?

It's not much a surprise this has been maintained for so many milenia, or the fact that all the religions from the middle east oppose sexuality (ironic considering the 'sex cults' that existed when judaism was first forming) but even hinduism and buddhism and everyone else wants everyone to pretend that sex doesnt exist. Buddhists even go so far as to isolate themselves from the rest of the world like christian monks. I've heard that taoism doesnt support this though, but it's increadibly diffcult to find any information on that religion, let alone anything that's easy to understand.

Seriously, why is this? And why would this entire world go along with it for 1000s of years? Yeah i know not everyone today is religious, but religious ppl still make up 2/3 of the population and i seriously doubt you'd find too many irreligious ppl in the ancient past, if any.

I asked something like this before but no one seemed to understand me (either that or they were trolls). I am not referring to fucking everything you see. There isnt even a word in the heavily chrisitan english language to refer to what i'm asking. What i mean is not being referred to as 'evil' if you think a girl is pretty or something petty like that.
