Why do pregnant women whine so much?

I'm sorry, but nobody asked them to get pregnant right? This girl I work with is pregnant and is constantly whingeing at work about how hard it is, yesterday she was 15 mins late for a meeting and the boss told her "that's ok sweetie, I know you're going through a rough patch". Like a man would have been told something like that.

Added to this my sister in law is pregnant and it's all we ever talk about at family gatherings. I mean jesus I don't care, why do I have to hear about it? Isn't this normal? Haven't women being doing it for 1000's of years with a lot less help than women have now? Why the drama?
 
I felt the same way my whole life until I got pregnant (I am 6 months pregnant right now). Too bad you'll never be pregnant, you'd get a new answer to your question every day for 9 months. And although I completely agree that we have it indescribably easier now than for most of history, some day to day discomforts (for lack of a better word...that's really the understatement of the century) just can't be cured by modern medicine or technology. Pregnancy may be the best time of many womens' lives, but it will always be one of the worst times too. And after the pregnancy it's all about the baby, and the mother typically takes on the majority of the responsibility. Even if the dad is involved in the child's life, it's just easier and more acceptable for him to get away when he needs a break. So women take 9 months of their entire lives to feel special and be the center of attention, deal with it. I'm up right now answering your question because lately I can't fall asleep and when I do lay down I flop around like a beached whale all night. What's your excuse?

P.S. This is the first time I've whined about my pregnancy to anyone but the father and my mom (which I still try to limit even though they seem not to mind) and it's other people who always bring up my pregnancy and can't seem to talk about anything else.
 
First of all you should consider the women who get raped. second, if the girl wanted to get pregnant, she does need to shut up and take it like a real woman. only a man would whine about things that pregnant women go through. p.s. go to a local hospital and ask if you can "see what it's like to be pregnant" it's a course that shows you what the women go through
