I am an atheists because I was raised that way I wouldn't know how to be religious
What I don't understand about most religions is why followers take the word of their priests preachers etc as the direct word of god
A few examples are
The churches policy on gays if your gay your going to hell
God created gays why would he send them to hell
Back when the church said the earth was flat obviously god knew it wasn't
So they were just plain wrong there
There are many more examples
My point is what does some guy on a stand know about god
It's just his interpretation of a boOk that another man wrote
I support religion even tho it's not my thing
I just don't understand why A person would worship the word of a fellow man as what god would want
Because from what I know god seems unloving and vengeful
Although I don't believe in any god I don't think an "all knowing all wise" being would act like the way he preachers portray him as
I know this is a generalization and I apologize
I ask because some people really think like this and if I have to share a world with people who worship a hateful vengeful god that would send his own creations to hell for the way he made them I want to know why
